The 4-Week Dance Rehearsal Plan
Use this plan as your guide for weekly practice.
Week 1: Getting Started
Focus on posture, physical awareness, and lower body strength.
Watch Video(s): Dance Intro, Plie and Releve
Daily Assignments:
- Log every practice using the practice journal.
- 10 slow plies and 10 releves in first and second position; increase reps daily.
- Fishbowl setup: keep hips level, core engaged, track knees over index toe.
- Record at least once daily and review posture/heel stability.
Week 2: Training the Basics
Focus on line extension, foot articulation, and smooth weight transfers.

Daily Assignments:
- Continue plies and releves warmup in first and second position.
- 8 tendus en croix each side with full brush and toe point.
- Keep hips level and core locked.
- Practice position retention and compare plies vs tendus mechanics.
- Combine plies, releves, and tendus into a continuous sequence.
Week 3: Building Confidence and Strength
Focus on coordination, upper-body expression, and long controlled counts.

Daily Assignments:
- 4 sets of Port de Bras framework daily with soft elbows and down shoulders.
- Continue plies/releves/tendus with music sync.
- Get creative with combinations and balance control.
- Pro tip: practice releves during daily routines at home.
- Record often, review, and celebrate wins.
Week 4: Performing, Originality, and The Master Routine
Focus on performance quality, memorization, and individual style.

Daily Assignments:
- Run full routine daily with strong performance energy and clean facings.
- Track progress: perform full routine from memory with favorite music.
- Be SAFE with footwear and non-slippery surface.
- Explore creative interpretation: tempo, mood, and style changes.
- Record daily, take notes, and celebrate progress.
